After the verdict of death penalty in 16th Dec rape
case
people seem very relieved. Well, I am not.
Because I know it won't stop from further committing
of such crimes.
After every such crime, people come out on the road,
do candle march, shout slogans against the culprits, police or system. Followed
by huge media coverage, playing blame games, interviewing every single person
walking on the road whether or not related with the case in anyways. That seems
the most obvious way of showing our rage.
I too feel this rage and I feel myself unsafe going
out no matter what hour of the day.
But I don’t think this will help us in anyways to find
a permanent solution to this problem.
In my opinion, we should question ourselves first
before pointing at anyone/thing else.
What have we done to prevent such crime?
Do we really think that all we need is a change in
laws to stop such crimes?
I am afraid changing the law won't change mind set of
people walking on the road.
Change has to happen within, at the root level.
Every parent in this Country should ask themselves one
question and it is not that whether such a thing could happen to their daughter
and so we should restrain her movement BUT if our son could commit such a heinous
act against any girl and so should we consider restraining him from walking out
of the house freely????
We give all sorts of
preposterous excuses for such crime. Often pointing at back at women
victim themselves like they dress provocatively, they go out for parties at
night, they work till late hours etc etc. None of them is worthy enough to be
able to point towards the actually reason I guess. Also it doesn’t explain why
young girl children are being targeted.
Here it seems as if we all are trying to solve a
problem without even knowing what the actual problem is.
Let’s stop being hypocrites and face our conscience.
Do we ever bother to question our son about his whereabouts,
his friend circle. Watch out for his timings
of going out and coming back home.
Mother knows her child best. Isn’t it her
responsibility to not only see to the safety and well being of her
daughter BUT to keep other's daughters
safe from his own son.
If men can not behave it is they who should suffer why
always women....
Enough is enough
Men have been behaving like mad dogs.
It is high time now to put them under restrain.
It is a bitter truth unfortunately BUT for most of the crimes against women in our
society, women are equally to be blamed. If they haven’t shirk from their responsibilities
towards fellow women and not been bias towards their son or grandson, may be
condition of women in our society would have been better.
What a shame…. not respecting another women, despite
being a woman.
Family is the root of society, women are back bone of
family. They are responsible to raise their children. They wish them to be well
fed, well educated, well settled BUT do they see to it whether their children
grow up to be responsible citizen, a good human being.
Are they doing their bit, honestly?
Unless we can answer such questions mentioned above we
have no right to criticize the law or government, system, police or even men because
we are part of this problem.
Such crimes will happen..
Women will keep suffering..
They will keep dying..
Only until we stand up for our fellow women and so for
ourselves. Because no one else will if not US….
